Voter burnout? Some early voters say they’ve heard enough about the election

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Everywhere you look there are signs that the election has reached an exciting point.

“It’s pretty crazy. “There’s a lot of turmoil out there, a lot of lies and misrepresentations,” said early voter Mike Whitson.

Outside the Lucas County Early Voting Center, the line to vote was out the door on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Some voters casting ballots now said they are ready for the results and ready to put the November election behind them.

“I’m so ready for it to be over, I’m happy I voted and I feel really good,” said early voter Margaret Brandel.

“I got a lot of emails, a lot of messages, but I think it’s great. I feel a great sense of community right now, and I think that’s great,” added Addie Greenberg, now 18 and a first-time voter.

However, the campaign will continue next week. From TV commercials to junk mail.

“All the papers we get in the mail are OK, everyone says, ‘You should vote!’ he says. ‘You must vote!’ I said, ‘I’m going to vote,'” early voter Sam Shade said.

Some early voters said voting in advance eliminated the advantage. Now they are counting the days for the votes to be counted.

“I can’t wait to get here by November 5th because I’m sick of the phone calls and the chaos. That’s why I can’t wait. Then we’ll see what happens,” concluded early voter Aleata Allen.
