Furjan Fund.

Launched in 2023 by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the fund focuses on supporting Emiratis through social projects that positively impact Dubai’s neighborhoods and improve residents’ quality of life.

Funded projects

The fund has so far supported and launched 15 projects, including a summer camp, the Al Ferjan Padel Challenge and the Hatta Ramadan Championship. All these initiatives are organized by Emiratis, focusing on Dubai’s neighborhoods and connecting them.

In a health-boosting move, the fund has partnered with Hattrick Academy and Dubai Municipality to make football education affordable and promote sustainability and community engagement.

Additionally, they have also partnered with the upcoming festival called Expo 971, which celebrates Emirati culture through educational and entertainment events organized by Ousha Bint Hussein Cultural Centre.

These events are part of a long-term vision, supported by collaborations with various organizations such as Al Ameen, Awqaf, Ferjan Dubai and DP World. Their aim is to support and ensure the sustainability of educational and entertaining events linked to Emirati heritage.

Alhajeri emphasized the urgency of such initiatives, describing it as a community-focused initiative rather than a for-profit venture: “As Dubai expands and residents are redistributed, neighborhoods are losing their sense of connection.”

Strengthening ties

With the generous support of Al Furjan Fund and its partnership with ‘Thukher Club’, a fully-funded leisure trip was organized for senior Emiratis. This initiative is designed to strengthen ties between club members.

Thukher Club promotes social connection, health and wellness among seniors. The hotel has a gym and a medical team that performs regular health checks. It also ensures the health and safety of retirees by organizing various events for retirees.

Two international trips were also organized in collaboration with the Al Furjan Fund: the first to Sri Lanka and the second to India.

Recalling the first trip, Alhajeri said, “I traveled to Sri Lanka for a week with 20 retirees in January and participated in many enjoyable activities. The retirees were warmly hosted by local families, learned their culture and explored many tourist attractions.”

A doctor is assigned in the destination country to ensure that retirees receive their medications on time. “The trip was filled with conversations and laughter, left lasting memories and strengthened ongoing bonds between citizens,” Alhajeri said. he added.
