Latest US elections: Madonna endorses candidate; Harris team says Trump is laying the groundwork to claim the election was stolen | US News

Donald Trump begins his rally by saying that his advisors told him not to come.

“They said, ‘You can’t win New Mexico,’ and I said, ‘Your votes were rigged, we can win New Mexico.'” he says to applause.

“We almost won twice — I believe we won twice,” he said, referring to previous elections in 2016 and 2020.

In 2020, Joe Biden won New Mexico with the highest vote share of any candidate since 2008, while in 2016, Hillary Clinton won with 48.3% of the vote to Mr. Trump’s 40%.

Mr. Trump also claimed that if “God” were counting the votes, he could have won New Mexico and even California, considered one of the safest Democratic seats anywhere in the country.

“Keep the votes fair,” he says, and continues his campaign to falsely claim that the previous election was “rigged.”
