Man with 35 drug and criminal records arrested in Jempol for theft worth about RM2,500

SEREMBAN, November 1 — Police arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of his involvement in three burglary and theft cases in the district two days ago.

Jempol district police chief Supt Hoo Chang Hook said that the suspect was caught in the basement parking lot of a supermarket in Bahau, where a large number of items were seized following a report made by a 56-year-old woman whose house in Taman Acbe was broken into. On October 21.

“Investigations revealed that the man climbed over a fence and entered the victim’s house by opening the kitchen window at around 5.30am. The victim reported the loss of a large number of personal items worth an estimated RM2,500,” he said.

Hoo said the suspect admitted to committing the burglaries and burglaries alone, adding that his modus operandi was to break into vacant or temporarily abandoned homes between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.

The suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and has a drug and criminal history of 35 counts, including being wanted for breaches under Section 15(4) of the Prevention of Crime Act 1959.

He said the suspect was detained for seven days until November 6 and the case was being investigated under Article 457 of the Criminal Code. — Bernama
