Mangaluru, 1 November: Bethany Educational Society Mangalore State organized a get-together of Hostel children on 31st October at St Raymond’s KG Block, Vamanjoor. Hostel owners came together for an invigorating get-together centered around the theme ‘Developing a positive attitude and mindset in children’. This much-anticipated event served as a platform for young minds to discover the power of optimism and resilience in their lives. The event started with the welcome of the hostel boys and guards. Sr Lilly Pereira BS, state superintendent and corporate director of Mangalore State Bethany Educational Society, presided over the stage function.

In his presidential address, the company executive thanked God for the far-sighted vision of Servant of God Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas, founder of Bethany Educational Community ® Mangalore. He applauded the lodgers and realized their full potential. He challenged them to embrace life with a positive attitude that not only helps overcome challenges but also empowers them to grow and develop in all areas. He concluded by saying that a positive mind fosters creativity, resilience and happiness, which are essential for their journey ahead.

The hostel managers and their assistants were honored and appreciated for their unwavering support and dedication in creating and nurturing a supportive environment for the children.

The program was organized by Sr Mariola BS, state coordinator for education in Mangalore state. In his welcome address, he urged boarders to take part in activities such as sports, dance, music, gardening or work that nourishes the body, while also involving the mind in learning, thinking and positive relationships.

The focus of the event was an engaging session moderated by Sachita Nandagopal, a well-known resource person who shared her views on ‘Developing a positive mindset in children’. Through interactive discussions and thought-provoking activities, children learned the importance of self-belief, kindness and empathy. The resource person encouraged participants to see themselves as beacons of light in their communities, emphasizing that they receive guidance and strength from God. As today is the festival of Diwali, the message of ‘be the light’ resonated throughout the event, reminding Hostellers of their role in spreading knowledge, compassion and courage.

When the event was over, the children left with a renewed sense of purpose and a better understanding of the importance of positivity. This coming together not only strengthened the core values ​​but also fostered the spirit of unity and joy among the lodgers, enabling them to shine their light brightly into the world.

BES staff Sr Laveena Maria BS expressed her gratitude and appreciated the role of everyone working towards the success of the programme. Sr Aruna compared the BS program. Mangalore state IPS treasurer Sr Sybil BS was also present. Sacred Hearts’ Hr Pry School staff Mayola Vas and Mary Smitha Mathais kept the boarders entertained with icebreakers, singing and good games.

The hostel owners presented wonderful colorful and creative programs on values ​​such as respect for the girl child, excellence in developing one’s unique potential and love for mother earth. In fact, it was a day of experiencing God’s unwavering love through different people and situations.
