In Pattaya, a ladyboy was arrested for pickpocketing a German tourist, displaying the caution of local citizens.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A surprising development took place in Pattaya in the early hours of the morning on October 31, and a 38-year-old woman was arrested for pickpocketing a German tourist. The incident occurred at around 6.30 am at the entrance of Soi 10 on Pattaya Second Road. .

Motorcycle taxi driver Pratin Saengsuwadee, 33, reported the crime to Pattaya police after seeing the suspect, identified as Thawatchai Ratchasena, trying to grope the 36-year-old German citizen’s wallet. Pratin, along with a local journalist, intervened when they noticed the stranger trying to protect his wallet, which had fallen to the ground during the fight.

Pratin said he saw the suspect hugging the stranger while trying to reach into his trouser pocket. When the victim realized what was happening, he fought back, causing the wallet to fall. The suspect fled to Soi Pattaya 10 but was quickly chased and detained by concerned citizens.

The German tourist avoided a costly loss by successfully retrieving his wallet with the help of fast-acting locals.


Initially, the suspect denied the accusation until the German tourist identified him. Confronted with the evidence, Thawatchai confessed, claiming that it was his first crime and that he needed money to pay for his room. The foreign victim confirmed that approximately 4,000 baht was intact in his wallet and chose not to press charges.

The suspect admitted to stealing to pay for accommodation, leading to unexpected events for everyone involved.
Thanks to citizens’ awareness, a possible crime was quickly resolved and the importance of looking out for each other became evident.

Following the incident, police took Thawatchai to the Pattaya City Police Station to be processed and recorded in the criminal record before releasing him.
