1 injured in shooting near Omaha’s Old Market

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Authorities are investigating a shooting near the Old Market in downtown Omaha.

Police said they found a man shot in the leg shortly before 3 a.m. Friday near 13th and Howard Streets.

A police lieutenant told 6 News that police were a few blocks away when they heard the gunshots and arrived at the scene.

The injured, whose life was not in danger, was taken to the hospital.

An initial investigation, following a trail of blood, led police to a block from 14th and Harney; There they found bullet casings and believed a shooting had occurred.

Witnesses reported that someone was running west toward 15th Street in Harney at the time of the shooting. Witnesses said they saw the victim coming toward them and contacted security at “Bar 415” to help him, according to OPD.

OPD is investigating and searching for suspects.
