Nebraska Sports Council encourages people to stay active ahead of holidays

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Staying active and making great nutritional choices during the holidays can be difficult. The Nebraska Sports Council is launching the latest challenge in the WellPower Movement to motivate people.

The Fall Fresh Air Challenge is a completely virtual experience created for accountability and fun. Starting November 1, people can start earning virtual badges and real rewards by signing up on the WellPower Movement website.

Nebraska Sports Council President Dave Mlnarik said people who log some extra physical activity will be eligible for weekly gift card drawings.

“You can compete with yourself, your family, your friends, your co-workers,” Dave explained. “Everyone can be more active.”

The WellPower Movement’s Fall Clean Air Challenge is sponsored by the Nebraska Association of Chiropractors. Executive Director of the Association, Dr. Nick Payne said people could make a big difference to their lives by making small, positive changes to their physical activity.

“Take the stairs instead of the elevator,” said Dr. Payne. “Simple little changes like these will help you stay healthy and active.”
