Louisiana man indicted on rape and battery charges by East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Walker man who was arrested twice on rape charges was indicted by an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury on Thursday, Oct. 31.

David Coutee, 39, of Walker, was charged with first-degree rape, aggravated second-degree battery, false imprisonment and being a felon armed with a dangerous weapon, according to court documents.

He was accused of slapping, sexually assaulting and beating the victim for hours. Coutee reportedly told the victim he would kill her if law enforcement was contacted, according to authorities.

Coutee was arrested and initially charged with first-degree rape, aggravated second-degree battery, false imprisonment, aggravated destruction of property and aggravated assault.
