Cook County woman accused of assaulting family member and biting police officer during arrest

A 25-year-old woman is accused of violating a protective order, assaulting a family member and biting a police officer during her arrest in the suburbs Cook County.

Sheriff’s police responded to a domestic disturbance call in unincorporated Leyden County, where they located Cynthia Villagran, who had reportedly assaulted a family member in violation of a protective order.

As officers attempted to arrest Villagran, Villagran allegedly resisted being handcuffed and bit one of the officers’ forearm.

Villagran is charged with aggravated battery on a peace officer, violation of a protective order, domestic battery and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
