Delta government is displacing people living in Asaba Cenotaph

The Delta state government has displaced three people who were living inside a bus parked inside the “Asaba Cemetery” premises despite all forms of alcohol and other illegal drugs being sold inside.

The Beautification Executive Assistant to the State Governor, Emmanuel Okpomo, who disclosed this while leading a team to demolish illegal structures at the Cenotaph, said:

“You saw the long luxury bus pulling away from there, three people were living in the bus.

“Since it is an emergency stadium used by the governor for some programs or ceremonies, we decided to clear the ground from all illegal activities to strengthen the environment.”

According to him, the illegal activities there clearly undermined the purpose of the establishment, adding: “It is in a much better situation than it was two months ago when the governor said I should take over. your place.

“We will repeat this routine exercise to ensure that people do not turn such facilities into their personal residences.

“We always work with the Waste Management Board to keep the state clean and promote environmental sustainability in line with the state governor’s MORE Agenda.”
