Man arrested for attacking Dollar General employee in Pickens

PICKENS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A man has been arrested for attacking an employee at a Dollar General in Pickens on Friday, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident occurred at 10:50 a.m. at the Dollar General located at 2505 Walhalla Highway, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said they were called to the scene of the attack, but the suspect had left on foot before they arrived.

He searched the area but could not find the suspect.

An investigation led to the identification of the suspect as 39-year-old Darell Allen Findley of Anderson.

Findley was located in the area of Terrapin Cross Road and was arrested hours later on a high and aggravated charge of assault and battery just before 7 p.m.

He is being held at the Pickens County Detention Center.
