‘Center fails to control crime’, says AAP on double murder in Delhi’s Shahdara

NEW DELHI: AAP, which came to power on Friday, targeted the BJP for its handling of law and order, blaming the Centre’s inaction as a contributing factor in the wake of the double murder in Shahdara. Delhi Police comes under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

“Due to the deterioration of law and order situation in the city, two people celebrating Diwali were killed in public last night. If the BJP had made efforts to improve the law and order situation, murders, gang wars and looting would not have happened every day,” Bharadwaj said.

Even the French Ambassador fell victim to pickpocketing in the city, he added.

However, the BJP said that while the Delhi Police usually nabs criminals within 24 to 96 hours, it is unfortunate that the AAPs continue to undermine force morale due to vested political interests.
