Gazprom says withdrawal of gas from Russian UGS facilities started on November 1 – Business and Economy

Gazprom began drawing gas from Russia’s underground gas storage (UGS) facilities on November 1, creating operational gas reserves of 73.034 billion cubic meters at these facilities for the winter of 2024-2025; This is an absolute record for the national world. “Traditionally high levels of reserves at UGS facilities allow the company to successfully cope with seasonal demand fluctuations. For example, Gazprom can quickly increase gas supplies to consumers in cold weather,” the report said.

Previous reports stated that Gazprom had successfully completed all planned preventive maintenance and repair activities in preparation for the autumn/winter operation. As of October 1, planned preventive repairs have been fully carried out at 100 gas production facilities across Russia. The company repaired 290 kilometers of linear sections of gas pipelines, 196 gas compressor units and 64 gas distribution stations. More than 28,000 kilometers of gas pipelines have undergone in-line inspections.
