PETA India offers reward of 50,000 rupees for information regarding stabbing of stray dogs in Delhi

PETA India has announced a reward of up to Rs 50,000 for information leading to the identification of those responsible for the stabbing of two stray dogs in north-east Delhi. The attacks occurred two days apart in Kabir Nagar and left one dog dead and another injured. Police are currently investigating the matter.

The first attack occurred late Thursday and the injured dog was treated. The second attack occurred on Friday night, and the dog later died from his injuries at a local hospital. Despite the police investigation, the suspects have not yet been identified.

PETA India has appealed to the public to come forward with any information that may assist the investigation. “Those who mistreat animals often turn to harming humans. For the safety of everyone, people need to come forward with what they know about the case and report animal cruelty to the police,” PETA India’s Cruelty Response Coordinator Sunayana Basu told PTI.

Following the attacks, an FIR was lodged at Welcome police station on Thursday. PETA India also called for psychiatric evaluation and counseling for those found guilty of animal cruelty, underlining that such actions may reflect deeper psychological problems.
